It is a time for people to enjoy themselves before the start of the Lenten fasting season. Join South and Central America, the Caribbean, Europe and New Orleans in this great celebration. Entertainment will include live samba and pagode music from Samba Gringa and BR 801 Pagode, fire dancers Samba Fogo, Salt Lake Capoeira, Stilt Walkers, the SLCC Dance Co and more. Samba dance lesson at 7:30 pm.

This program is presented in conjunction with Utah’s African Heritage: Story telling through Art and Artifact, on exhibit now at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center. Women will be asked to share their experiences, both positive and negative, regarding life in Salt Lake as women of color. The discussion will take place Jan. 28, 6:30 p.m., at The Grand Theatre.
