If you haven't been to a production with Pinnacle Acting Company, you are missing one of the best acts in town! The Lion in Winter promises to live up to the excellent reputation this theater company has made for itself.
Set in the quite neighborhood of Old Midvale, Pinnacle Acting Company plays out of the Midvale Performing Arts Center. While off the beaten path, Pinnacle never fails to impress. Coming from a long list of fantastic productions, their newest venture depicts the relationships among members of the English royal family on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
This is no ordinary Christmas with the family. It's Christmastime in 1183, and King Henry II of England is prepared to announce which of his three sons will inherit the throne … but his wife Eleanor of Aquitaine has other plans, and the fate of a family and a kingdom is at stake. With legendary wit and vigor, Henry and Eleanor battle for their futures and that of their children in a story of political and familial intrigue.
The outstanding Morgan Lund as Henry and Teresa Sanderson as Eleanor lead this convoluted tale as husband and wife! Intense enemies only made possible by passionate love, these two thrive on both love and hate alike. And with direction by the respected L.L. West, one is sure to find a substantial and rewarding evening.
And if you're interested in seeing the show but don't have anyone to go with, consider joining Utah Theater Lovers, a monthly theater group. They will be attending the matinee on the closing day - Saturday, November 17th at 2:00 pm. Followed by a post-show discussion and dinner.
The Lion in Winter runs through Saturday November 17th, More information about tickets can be found on Pinnacle's website!
