Red Bull Theater (Jesse Berger, Artistic Director | Jim Bredeson, Managing Director) begins performances tonight Tuesday March 19th for John Webster's The White Devil at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street between Bleecker & Hudson Streets). Opening Night is set for March 31st. The limited Off-Broadway engagement will continue through April 14th.

Shakespeare Theatre Company's Artistic Director Michael Kahn invites theatre-lovers to a series of intimate conversations about life in the D.C. theatre scene as he prepares to retire from the STC stage. Open, unrehearsed, and off the record, invited speakers will swap anecdotes and share memories about Michael Kahn's 33-years at Shakespeare Theatre Company. Following his career trajectory, the discussions will focus on three distinct eras in STC's history by mapping D.C.'s changing theatre scene. The first Michael Kahn and Friends: Off the Record will focus on the formation of The Shakespeare Theatre Company in its first location: Folger Theatre (1986-1992).
Hanover Wind Symphony Comes to The Bickford Theatre, 2/10

The Hanover Wind Symphony will perform a special concert entitled And the Trumpets Shall Sound at the Morris Museum on Sunday, February 10 at 2:00PM. The concert will feature the Hanover Wind Symphony's trumpet section, and guest soloist, Michael R. Baker. The concert is being held in conjunction with the museum's exhibition, Trumpets, Weird and Wonderful: Treasures from the National Music Museum, which is on view through Sunday, March 17, 2019.

The production is written by On The Rocks co-founders Christopher Ford & Dakota Rose with original music by their frequent collaborator Andrew R. Butler. Ms. Rose helms the production as director. I have been a huge fan of both Wil Love and Carl Schurr for many years. They are currently both performing in Everyman Theatre's THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST which ends its run Dec. 30, 2018. They have become two patriarchs of the Baltimore theatre scene. Since their meeting at Center Stage in 1971, they have performed, produced, and adapted hundreds of performances both regionally and nationally. Now in their 10th year as Resident Company Members at Everyman Theatre, Wil and Carl have plenty of war stories and advice to share. I connected with these two venerable performances to learn more about their story.

The acclaimed production of Gingold Theatrical Group's Heartbreak House has only two weeks remaining in its limited Off-Broadway engagement at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues), through September 29th only. The production will be filmed on September 28th to be preserved for posterity and added to the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.
