Plan-B Theatre Continues 20th Anniversary Season With 8th Annual SLAM

For 8 years, our annual fundraising event has focused on censorship. But, as Plan-B is the only Utah theatre company fully devoted to the development of new work by Utah playwrights, we felt it was important for our annual fundraising to reflect where we are as a company.

Matthew Ivan Bennett's most personal play to date explores the relationship between two estranged sisters (played by April Fossen and Christy Summerhays) and their late mother (played by Teresa Sanderson, who also portrays several other characters) in this complex quest for hope and healing. A play about facing family. Directed by Cheryl Ann Cluff.

Pulitzer Prize-winning author Wallace Stegner (portrayed by Richard Scharine) is the dean of Western writers. Wallace Thurman (portrayed by Carleton Bluford) was a young, gay black man at the heart of the Harlem Renaissance. Both called Salt Lake City home.
