Bardway Baby! is back at the Utah Shakespeare Festival for its third annual night of musical entertainment. Bardway, Baby! is a late-night concert event featuring classic Broadway show tunes. Performed by Festival actors, the concert will be held on August 10 at approximately 11 p.m. in the Auditorium Theatre. Tickets are $25 for reserved seating or $10 for general admission. They are available now at the Festival ticket office or by calling 1-800-PLAYTIX.

The fundraising concert will benefit the Artistic Initiative Fund, which was established by artistic directors David Ivers and Brian Vaughn. The Artistic Initiative Fund was created in order to promote the Festival’s growth in artistic excellence. The fund will serve to increase the size and scope of the Festival’s production design aesthetic, as well as increase the Festival’s national and international presence. The target goal of the Artistic Initiative Fund is $250,000 by 2013.

Bardway, Baby! will feature live music with group songs, duet numbers, and solo performances; and is hosted by Ivers and Vaughn. Songs will be performed from classic Broadway shows such as The Phantom of the Opera, Guys and Dolls, Funny Girl, West Side Story and Anything Goes. Some of the talented performers will be J. Michael Bailey, Ben Jacoby, Tina Scariano, Kyle Jeffery Eberlein, Kymberly Mellen, and Melody Wilson.

“This is a great way to celebrate the artists in our company, and to showcase the Broadway caliber talent that we have at the Festival,” said Vaughn.
