Utah Repertory Theater Company has announced an open audition for its productions of "Carousel" and "What the Bellhop Saw."

Actors may audition for a single or both shows at two locations:

In Utah County - Monday, March 18, 4-6 p.m. at Utah Valley University White Box (GT632) in Orem, Utah.

In Salt Lake County - Wednesday, March 20, 6-10 p.m. at the Murray Theater.

All parts are open with the exception of the lead Carousel role of Billy Bigelow will be played by Kevin Goertzen.

"We are very lucky to have Kevin join us from his home in Florida for this production," said Johnny Hebda, artistic director/founder of Utah Rep. "After his roles as File in '110 in the Shade,' opposite Audra McDonald and Will Swenson, and Enjolras in 'Les Miserables' at Tuacahn Amphitheatre, he's proven to be a very talented singer-actor and very popular with Utah audiences."

Other lead roles Goertzen has played to wide acclaim include Adam Pontipee in "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" at Robert Redford's Sundance Resort Outdoor Theater, Percy Blakeney in "The Scarlet Pimpernel," Prince Radames in "Aida," and Curly McLain in "Oklahoma!"

Performances of "What the Bellhop Saw" are May 31-June 15 at the Murray Theater. Directing will be Chase Ramsey with choreography by Cooper Howell.

Performances of "Carousel" are Aug. 9-24 at the Murray Theater. Directing will be Johnny Hebda, with choreography by Cooper Howell and music direction by Melissa Thorne.

Callbacks for both shows will be Saturday, March 23, at the Murray Theater from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
