Pioneer Theatre Company presents the Tony Award-winning Broadway contemporary classic, A Chorus Line. The show runs September 25 through October 10, 2009.
Seventeen Broadway dancers auditioning for spots on a chorus line don their legwarmers and perfect their combinations for a chance at stardom. The audition takes a personal turn as they are asked to reveal their individual stories-ranging from funny to wrenching. In 1975, A Chorus Line won nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. It broke the mold of the traditional Broadway musical when it first ran in 1975, and became what at the time was the longest-running musical ever.
Jeffry Denman makes his PTC debut as Zach, the Director. He performed in the original Broadway casts of White Christmas, The Producers, and Dream, in the original cast of the revival How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and in the final cast of Cats.
Kimberly Dawn Neumann plays Cassie, Zach's former lover and once successful solo dancer, now determined to return to the dance profession. Neumann recently played the same role on Broadway. She also appeared in Broadway's Annie Get Your Gun, Urban Cowboy and Ragtime. Her national tours include Kiss Me Kate, Annie Get Your Gun, Ragtime, and A Chorus Line as Val. She was also a regular on Late Night with Conan O'Brien.
Erin Denman is back at PTC after playing Velma in the 2006 production of Chicago. On Broadway, Denman has been in the revival of 42nd Street and Stairway to Paradise, and performed with both the national tour and the 2005 movie of The Producers.
The production's Dance Captain Deone Zanotto plays Diana. She made her Broadway debut in the most recent revival of A Chorus Line. Other New York credits include Zorba and Bajour! Before moving to New York, Zanotto resided in London and performed in the West End production of We Will Rock You and in South Pacific for the BBC London. Zanotto is an Aria nominee for the Original Cast Recording of Dirty Dancing.
Jessica Leigh Brown plays Maggie. She recently performed in Turn of the Century directed by Tommy Tune at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, where she performed opposite Jeff Daniels. Her Broadway and national tour credits include Sweet Charity starring Molly Ringwald, Doctor Dolittle with Tommy Tune, Nine with Antonio Banderas and Chita Rivera, and Sunset Boulevard with Petula Clark.
In her debut with PTC, Kaitlyn Davidson plays Val. She was last seen on stage as Rapunzel in Pittsburgh CLO's production of Into the Woods as well as in West Side Story, Mame, The Full Monty, and Cats.
Paul is played by Miguel Angel Falcon and Connie is played by Hannah Chin; both are in their PTC debuts. Elizabeth Clinard, who recently appeared at PTC as Ulla in The Producers, returns as Judy; Tony Falcon returns from last season's The Light in the Piazza as Giuseppe; and Mike Kirsch (Bobby) returns from Paint Your Wagon, The Producers and My Fair Lady.
