CINDERELLA Mountain View High School 11/21-11/26/2012
The timeless enchantment of a magical fairy tale is reborn with the Rodgers & Hammerstein hallmarks of originality, charm and elegance. Originally presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers & Hammerstein's CINDERELLA was the most widely viewed program in the history of the medium. Its recreation in 1965 starring Lesley Ann Warren was no less successful in transporting a new generation to the miraculous kingdom of dreams-come-true, and so was a second remake in 1997, which starred Brandy as Cinderella and Whitney Houston as her Fairy Godmother. As adapted for the stage, with great warmth and more than a touch of hilarity, the hearts of children and adults alike still soar when the slipper fits.Music by Rodgers, Richard; Book by Oscar Hammerstein II; Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein IIFor more information on Mountain View High School, click hereFor more information on Cinderella, click here

JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT Entheos Academy 11/29-12/1/2012
The Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors comes to vibrant life in this delightful musical parable. Joseph, his father's favorite son, is a boy blessed with prophetic dreams. When he is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and taken to Egypt, Joseph endures a series of adventures in which his spirit and humanity are continually challenged. He is purchased by Potiphar where thwarting advances from Potiphar's wife lands him in jail. When news of Joseph's gift to interpret dreams reaches the Pharaoh (wryly and riotously depicted as Elvis), Joseph is well on his way to becoming second in command. Eventually his brothers, having suffered greatly, unknowingly find themselves groveling at the feet of the brother they betrayed but no longer recognize. After testing their integrity, Joseph reveals himself leading to a heartfelt reconciliation of the sons of Israel. Set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock 'n' roll, this Old Testament tale emerges both timely and timeless.Lyrics by Tim Rice; Music by Andrew Lloyd WebberFor more information on Entheos Academy, click hereFor more information on Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, click here

INTO THE WOODS OREM HIGH SCHOOL 11/27-12/4/2012
An ambivalent Cinderella? A blood-thirsty Little Red Ridinghood? A
Prince Charming with a roving eye? A Witch...who raps? They're all
among the cockeyed characters in James Lapine
and Stephen Sondheim's
fractured fairy tale. When a Baker and his Wife learn they've been
cursed with childlessness by the Witch next door, they embark on a quest
for the special objects required to break the spell, swindling, lying
to and stealing from Cinderella, Little Red, Rapunzel and Jack (the one
who climbed the beanstalk). Everyone's wish is granted at the end of
Act One, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them
later, with disastrous results. What begins a lively irreverent fantasy
in the style of The Princess Bride becomes a moving lesson about community responsibility and the stories we tell our children. One of Sondheim's most popular works, INTO THE WOODS is a timeless yet relevant piece and a rare modern classic.

SWEENEY TODD JUDGE MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL 11/8-1/26/2013
The rare instance of a musical thriller, Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler?s
chilling, suspenseful, heart-pounding masterpiece of murderous
barber-ism and culinary crime tells the infamous tale of the unjustly
exiled barber who returns to 19th century London seeking revenge against
the lecherous judge who framed him and ravaged his young wife. His
thirst for blood soon expands to include his unfortunate customers, and
the resourceful proprietress of the pie shop downstairs soon has the
people of London lining up in droves with her mysterious new meat pie
recipe!Sophisticated, macabre, visceral and uncompromising, SWEENEY TODD
nevertheless has a great sense of fun, mixing intense drama with
howlingly funny moments of dark humor: audiences find themselves
laughing hysterically one moment and gasping in surprise the next.At
the show?s core is a challenging score of epic proportion with two
tasty tour de force roles in Sweeney and his comic female accomplice
Mrs. Lovett. Although it has been extremely popular with opera
companies and in concert presentation, SWEENEY TODD is equally effective as an intimate chamber musical.
